Temperatures are plummeting - but before you hunt out your old hot water bottle, take note.
A host of newfangled designs have arrived to rival the smelly rubber version. Now there are hi-tech plug-in hotties, bottles designed by Nasa and even heat pads to keep your pet cosy.
Here, we try to find what’s hot and what’s not...
A LOT OF BOTTLE

Stayed hot for 5 hours
"When designer Richard Yu pitched his idea of a snake-like hot water bottle on TV’s Dragons’ Den, they didn’t warm to the idea. So he approached Harrods instead - and the 4in by 2ft 7in hottie became an instant sell-out.
Richard had decided to create a hot water bottle long enough to warm the entire body. It is made from rubber covered in small bubbles, which retain heat, and has a cashmere cover. And it takes the same amount of water as a normal hottie.
My husband Ray (who has scoffed at hot water bottles for 22 years) happily shares this - so it’s a marriage saver as well!"
